Firm / Privacy

Privacy policy.

What we collect, why we collect it, how it is protected, and the short list of circumstances under which it is ever shared.

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 9, 2026

Xel Wealth Management, Inc. (“XWM”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of current, former, and prospective clients. This notice describes what we collect, how we use it, the short list of circumstances under which it is ever shared, and the choices you have — including our practices under Regulation S-P.

1. Who we are

XWM is a Registered Investment Adviser licensed in California and Oregon. Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training. Our Form ADV and related disclosures are available on the SEC’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure site and on our disclosures page.

We are part of the Xel family of firms, each a separate legal entity with its own agreement and its own compensation: Xel Advisors, Inc. (tax, accounting, and business advisory), XWM (investment advice and financial planning), and XA Insurance Services, Inc. (insurance brokerage). Engaging one does not require engaging another.

This notice applies to this website, the portals we use to exchange documents with you, and the communications we exchange by email, phone, and text message. Our headquarters is 337 N Vineyard Ave, Suite 230, Ontario, CA 91764.

As an investment adviser we are a financial institution under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), which makes us subject to Regulation S-P and the FTC Safeguards Rule.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to advise you, meet our fiduciary and regulatory obligations, and run the firm:

  • Identifiers and contact information — name, address, email address, telephone and mobile number, date of birth.
  • Financial and account information — Social Security or taxpayer identification number, income, net worth, assets and liabilities, account balances, holdings, and transaction activity, from account applications and agreements and from your accounts at our custodian.
  • Planning information — goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, and the documents you share to support a plan: tax returns, statements, insurance policies, estate documents, and benefit summaries.
  • Engagement information — the services you request, your advisory agreement, correspondence with us, notes from meetings and calls, and billing records.
  • Communications content and metadata — emails, portal messages, and text messages exchanged with us, including the date, time, and phone number involved.
  • Website and technical information — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring page, collected through standard server logs and the analytics described below.
  • Information from third parties — our custodian, your other advisors when you authorize contact, and any account you choose to link to our planning software.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and this website is not directed to children.

3. How we use information

We use your information to provide and administer advisory and planning services, to communicate with you, to bill and collect advisory fees, to comply with legal, regulatory, and fiduciary obligations, to secure our systems, and — where permitted — to tell you about services that may be relevant to you.

We do not sell your personal information — to anyone, ever — and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Where information reaches us through our tax affiliate for tax preparation, that information is additionally subject to Internal Revenue Code §7216, which restricts how tax return information may be used or disclosed and requires your separate written consent before it is used for anything other than preparing your return.

4. Text messaging (SMS)

Texting is opt-in and separate from everything else on the contact form. The box is unchecked when the page loads, and you can send us a message without ticking it — consent to texts is not required to become a client or to receive our services.

If you provide a mobile number and consent to text messages, we use it only to communicate with you directly about scheduling, servicing, and your inquiries. Messages are sent individually by a person, not automated. Mobile opt-in information and SMS consent are never sold, rented, or shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.

What we keep. When you tick the box we record that you did, the date and time, and the wording you were shown, so the consent can be evidenced later. That record is held under this notice and shared with nobody.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop texts from that number; reply HELP for assistance. You can also withdraw consent by emailing wealth@xeladvisors.com or calling +1 (909) 635-9310. Opting out of text messages does not remove you from email or telephone contact, and we may still need to reach you by other means about your accounts.

Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and text messaging is not a secure channel — please don't send account numbers or Social Security numbers by text.

5. When we share information

We share your information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers who need it to support our work, under contracts requiring them to protect it and use it only for that purpose — including Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (our custodian, which holds your accounts in your name), eMoney Advisor (financial planning and account aggregation), Microsoft 365 (email, documents, and file storage), RingCentral (telephone and text messaging), and our billing and portfolio reporting providers.
  • Within the Xel family — between XWM, Xel Advisors, and XA Insurance Services — only with your consent or as otherwise permitted by law. Where consent is required we ask for it in writing, and you may decline without affecting the services you already receive.
  • At your direction — for example, to your attorney, CPA, lender, or another advisor when you ask us to send something.
  • As required by law — in response to subpoenas, court orders, and regulatory examinations, and to comply with our recordkeeping obligations.
  • In a business transaction — if the firm merges or transfers a practice, subject to the same protections and applicable regulatory requirements.

We do not share text messaging originator opt-in data or consent with any third party, for any purpose.

6. How we protect information

We maintain an information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to meet Regulation S-P and the FTC Safeguards Rule: access limited to personnel who need the information to serve you, multi-factor authentication on firm systems, encryption of data in transit and at rest with our platform providers, vendor due diligence, staff training, and a written incident response plan.

Please use the portal. Send documents containing Social Security numbers, account numbers, or other sensitive data through our encrypted document portal — not as unencrypted email attachments. Ordinary email and text messaging are not secure channels, and we will move sensitive exchanges into the portal.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. How long we keep it

We retain client records for the period required by SEC Rule 204-2 and comparable state investment adviser rules — generally at least five years from the end of the fiscal year in which a record was made, with the first two years in an easily accessible place, and longer where a regulation, statute of limitations, or litigation hold requires it. When retention is no longer required, records are securely destroyed.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision we make about a request.

  • California (CCPA/CPRA) — rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Much of the information we hold is subject to the GLBA exemption, which limits how these rights apply to financial-services records.
  • Oregon, Florida, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — comparable rights, subject to the same financial-institution exemptions.
  • All clients — you may ask us to limit sharing with our affiliates, request a copy of our current privacy notice, and correct inaccurate contact information at any time.

To exercise a right, email wealth@xeladvisors.com or call +1 (909) 635-9310. We will verify your identity before acting, respond within the time the applicable law allows, and will not discriminate against you for making a request. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof of authority.

9. Cookies, analytics & tracking

This website uses only what it needs to function, plus Google Analytics to understand traffic in aggregate. We do not run third-party advertising networks on this site and do not build advertising profiles from your visit. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable law requires it.

10. Former clients

If your relationship with XWM ends, we continue to protect your information under this notice and retain records only as long as our regulatory obligations require.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as our practice, technology, or the law changes. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. We provide our privacy notice at account opening, annually while you are a client, and upon any material change, as Regulation S-P requires.
